The particularly high temperatures that have characterised this summer, persisting since June, have also had an impact on the Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens, affecting several areas and, in particular, the Dahlias in the Labyrinth.
The prolonged heat has compromised the quality of the blooms, making it necessary to remove the plants earlier than expected. This decision reflects our commitment to maintaining the high standards of care and quality that have always distinguished the Gardens and to offering visitors a space that truly reflects the beauty of its surroundings.
The Labyrinth is therefore temporarily closed to the public to allow our gardening team to prepare a new display.
However, this is not simply the early conclusion of the summer flowering season: it is also an opportunity to completely renew the Labyrinth and give it a new look, ready for the beginning of September.
Over the coming weeks, our team will be working to prepare the area and restore it to its full beauty. With the arrival of September, the Labyrinth will once again become one of the highlights of the visitor route, with a renewed display and a new atmosphere to discover.
The Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens are a living environment, constantly changing with the seasons and inevitably responding to changing climatic conditions. Caring for the Gardens means knowing when intervention is necessary, respecting the rhythms of nature and turning each change into a new opportunity.
We look forward to welcoming visitors back to the Labyrinth in September, when it will reopen with a completely renewed display.
In the meantime, the rest of the Gardens remain open as usual, inviting visitors to explore the botanical collections, seasonal blooms and beautiful views that make this time of year so special.
